At Greenwich Plumbers we believe you should know what you're paying before any work begins. Every job starts with a clear quote or rate explanation — our engineer will not pick up a spanner until you've agreed to the price. There are no call-out fees hidden in the small print and no shock invoices at the end.

The rates below are our standard starting prices. For straightforward jobs they are typically the final price; for more complex work, your engineer will give you a fixed quotation on the day. All prices are exclusive of VAT at the current rate.

Common Pricing Questions

Are there call-out fees on top of the hourly rate?

No. There is no separate call-out fee. The first-hour rate covers both the engineer's travel time and the initial diagnosis and repair work. If the job takes longer, additional time is charged at the hourly rate. Everything is confirmed with you upfront.

Do prices include VAT?

The prices shown are ex-VAT. VAT at the current standard rate (20%) is added to the invoice. Your quote or rate confirmation will always state whether VAT is included or excluded.

What happens if the job takes longer than expected?

If work looks like it will run beyond the first hour, your engineer will let you know and confirm you're happy to continue before clocking any additional time. You're never committed to more than you've agreed to.

Can I get a fixed price rather than a time-and-materials rate?

Yes — for larger jobs such as boiler installation, bathroom fitting and central heating installation, we always provide a fixed written quote after a free survey. For smaller repairs, the engineer will give you a fixed price where possible.

Are out-of-hours rates higher?

Yes — callouts between approximately 6pm and 8am, plus weekends and bank holidays, carry an out-of-hours rate. We'll confirm the rate before we dispatch an engineer so you can decide whether to proceed or book for the next working day.
